SUMMARY OF APPLICATION PROCEDURES
*WELCOME ALL INQUIRIES REGARDING EMPLOYMENT
*TEACHING POSITIONS HANDLED BY DISTRICT OFFICE
*SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS HANDLED BY BUSINESS OFFICE
*NO TEACHING APPLICATION UNLESS POSITION IS ADVERTISED
*NO TEACHING APPLICATION UNLESS WRITTEN LETTER OF INQUIRY
I. UNADVERTISED POSITIONS (No vacancy exists and no vacancy is expected)
A. TEACHING
1. BY MAIL
(a) Mark the letter at the top as follows, "APPLICANT- (AREA OF CERTIFICATION)."
(b) Mail a copy of the standard letter "No Anticipated Openings."
2. IN PERSON OR BY TELEPHONE
(a) Tell the applicant that we do not have an opening at this time.
(b) Ask that he submit a letter of inquiry (Name, address, position in which he is interested.)
(c) Tell applicant that when a position opens, we will mail an application to all candidates who have submitted a letter of inquiry within the last year.
(d) DO NOT give or send the applicant a teaching application.
(e) All letters of inquiry are to be kept on file in the District Office.
B. SUPPORT STAFF (Civil Service)
(a) Refer the applicant to the Business Office for information on a civil service application.
(b) All letters of inquiry and application are to be kept on file in the Business Office.
II. ADVERTISED POSITIONS (Vacancy exists)
A. TEACHING
1. BY MAIL
Mail the applicant a Notice of Vacancy, standard letter, application and job description, if appropriate. (Be sure to insert the position code on the application.)
2. IN PERSON OR BY TELEPHONE
(a) Tell the applicant that he must submit a letter of inquiry, (Name, address, position in which he is interested.)
(b) All questions by applicants shall be referred to the appropriate hiring administrator.
(c) All interviews are scheduled only by the hiring administrator after all paper work has been received.
3. PREVIOUSLY FILED LETTERS OF INQUIRY
Mail a Notice of Vacancy, standard letter, application and job description, if appropriate, to every applicant who has submitted a letter of inquiry in the last calendar year.
B. SUPPORT STAFF (Civil Service)
1. BY MAIL, IN PERSON OR BY TELEPHONE
Direct the applicant or forward the letter of inquiry and/or application to the Business Office.
