Superintendent Development Program(#) = cohort number
Fall 1995 - John Grant and Skip Meno discuss starting a program to identify and develop local superintendents in their BOCES regions.
Winter 1996 - John Grant and Skip Meno approach Oswego State University after Western New York colleges and universities are uninterested.
Spring 1996 - Winter 1997 - Oswego faculty, Skip Meno, John Grant and a cadre of local superintendents design the program. Bill Silky appointed lead college faculty.
Spring 1997 - Initial recruitment effort draws 7 applicants, fails.
Summer-Fall 1997 – Marketing Plan designed, second recruitment effort draws 32 applicants. Jim Merrins appointed SDP Program Administrator.
1998 - 1st SDP cohort in Western New York (#1)
Winter 1999 - Planning for 2nd SDP cohort In Western New York and 1st SDP cohort in Central New York
1999-2000 - 2nd SDP cohort in Western New York (#2) and 1st SDP cohort in Central New York (#3)
Winter 2000 - Planning for 1st SDP cohort in Capital Region
Summer 2000 - JMT grants are written and funded including SDPs for Mid-State, Western New York and Capital Region
2000-01 - 1st SDP cohort in Capital Region (#4)
Fall 2000 - Planning for 3rd Western New York and 1st Mid-State regions
2001 - 3rd SDP cohort in Western New York (#5) and 1st SDP cohort in Mid-State (#6)
Winter 2001 - Planning for 2nd Central New York region
2001-02 - 2nd SDP cohort in Central New York (#7)
Fall 2001 - Planning for 1st cohorts in South Central and Hudson Valley regions, and 2nd cohort in Hudson-Mohawk region
2002 - 1st SDP cohort in South Central (#8) and 2nd SDP cohort in Hudson-Mohawk (#9)
