Transition to Superintendency Program (TSP) |
About the
TRANSITION TO SUPERINTENDENCY PROGRAMThe Transition to Superintendency Program is an orientation to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for successful transition into the superintendency. The program has a comprehensive, integrated curriculum consisting of topic sessions. The sessions are coordinated with an optional series of self-directed competencies to develop participant familiarity with and understanding of the superintendency.
The Transition to Superintendency Program is practical. The eight half day sessions are a reasonable time commitment. The competencies certificates are recommended (but optional) and can be selected by the participant to meet his/her individual lifestyle and other professional commitments. Participants can choose from among three levels of commitment based upon their lifestyle, available time, and program cost. Participants can shift to a higher level of certificate after starting the program. The competencies help the participants understand what the superintendent does and why she/he is doing it. Participants get practical advice from successful, experienced superintendent faculty.
The Transition to Superintendency Program is for experienced school administrators preparing to transition to the superintendency and for newly appointed Superintendents of Schools.
