The Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education can set a
tone and establish methods of operation that determine and support the culture
of the District. A culture that is solid, accepting, understanding, and focused
on children is a worthy goal, journey and destination. One way to establish that
culture is to operate with an agreed set of references - approved, adopted,
monitored and enforced by all.
The following Five Filters for Decisions was shared by Gary
Worden, Superintendent of Schools and Waneta Griffin, President of the Board of
Education of the Maine-Endwell Central School District as having evolved as their
District’s filters in decision making.
